Family Centred Care 2018

An important aspect of family centred care is about getting the parents and babies together as much as possible. This may be for feeding, cuddles or skin to skin kangaroo care. To do this the unit requires chairs that are comfortable, easily manuverable especially for mothers who have had cesarian sections, and they must be durable.

The trust in 2018 purchased 10 leather recliners for this purpose. They were trialled by staff and parents to find a style that best suited our needs. These chairs may be fully reclined by simply pushing back and  upright by leaningforward, no difficul handles to use. The families love them.
